Over 20 years ago, The Emory was built by hand, most of it by the owners, the same people who built Woodward Avenue Brewers in 1996 and The Loving Touch just after the millennium.

The wood you see behind the bar, and in the seats that you’re perhaps sitting on, were lovingly made from fallen trees from the family farm of their great grandfather, Emory Johnston.

The WAB, along with The Emory, were pioneers in recycling in local restaurants and the commitment to sustainability and local sourcing has continued.

The challenges of operating a relevant and viable restaurant are not new, and we continue to strive to be the best we can be. We hope you’ll make yourself comfortable and enjoy your time with us.

We all appreciate you being here. With you our story continues.

YES, WE’VE BEEN HERE A WHILE
